Fr. Robert Schrader
Pastor
Fr. Bob Schrader was born into Blessed Sacrament Parish on April 8, 1949. He attended #24
School on Linden Ave for pre-K and Blessed Sacrament School (Class of '63) for
elementary school. He entered St. Andrew's Seminary on Buffalo Rd. (now the Diocesan
Offices). He continued at St. John Fisher College (Beckett Hall) (Class of '71).
As part of his training at St. Bernard's Seminary, he worked at St. John the Baptist
Community Center in New Orleans ('73-'74) and took Clinical Pastoral Education
in Los Angeles ('74-75) (hospital, psychiatric center, and correctional facility).
After his Deacon Internship at Holy Family Parish ('77-'78) he was ordained at
Holy Family on April 7, 1978. After serving as a Priest Intern at St. Monica's
('78-'81), as Parochial Vicar at St. Theodore's ('81-'85), he was appointed Priest
Personnel Director for the Diocese ('86-'91). In 1992 he was granted a sabbatical
to study at the Institute of Theology and Spirituality at the Franciscan Renewal
Center in Santa Barbara, California. He has served as Pastor of St. Mary's Church
in Auburn since 1992.
