The family faith program is developed for families with children who do not attend Catholic schools. The objective of the program is to teach (catechize) the children and their families about their faith.
Six times a year the entire family is expected to attend our general family gatherings. These are held on Monday evenings at St. Ambrose and on Tuesdays at St. John the Evangelist from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. These sessions are theme based and usually revolve around the Church Calendar. (i.e. Lent, Advent, etc.)
In addition to the family sessions each child is expected to complete a religion textbook appropriate for their grade level. There are two options for doing this: HOME STUDY which involves parents and child (with the help of a home guide) work on the course material at their own pace throughout the year. SUMMER SESSION which involves the child attending classes in August.. During this time the children cover the material in the textbook, learn songs, do crafts, play games and have an all around great time.
Summer Session classes are taught by professional teachers of the Catholic faith. We offer a small stipend for people interested in teaching. Summer Session 2010 will be held from August 2-6, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you are interested in teaching please call us at the number below
