The Peace of Christ Basketball program is for youth in grades 3-12. Last year we had a total of eight teams comprised of 93 Youth from our Parish and outlying community.
We are now taking registration for Basketball Camp for girls and boys in Grades 3-6.

It is with pride that on March 30, 2009 we will honor eight of these youth at the Cathedral for the annual Faith Through Sports Award. The Faith Through Sports Award is awarded to an athlete who meets the Diocese of Rochester CYO criteria:
*Consistently demonstrates Catholic values and Christian behavior by word and example.
*Demonstrates the qualities of a team player
*Works towards both team and personal goals
*Is a positive role model to their teammates
*Honors the game through respect for team, opponents and officials
*Is a practicing Roman Catholic
The winners of this years award will be given to: Owen Jones, Paul Appleby, Jonathan Quinones, Tyler Pfluke, Chianna Porter, Cameron Serapilio-Frank, Shannon Walsh, and Michael Scarantino.
Our annual Chris Desso Award is in honor of the late Chris Desso. Chris was a sophomore at McQuaid High School when he was struck and killed while riding his bicycle home on October 29, 1994. He was a graduate of St. Ambrose and Northeastern Catholic Junior High School . Chris played Eastside Little League Baseball for seven years and participated in CYO Basketball through St. John the Evangelist with his cousins. He was a life member of Boy Scout Troop No. 231 and achieved the rank of Star. Chris had an amazing passion for life that showed by always going the extra mile to help others. The Chris Desso Award is given to one player on each team who caries on Chris's Passion for life and sports. The eight recipients of this award were: Essence Brownlee, Marquan Walker, Aiden Jones, Joseph Tanner, Cheyenne Connor, Nick Lugo-Hilmer, Carly Stemmer, and Denzel Peterson.
